Good Evening To Mr. Crossley & Our Many Film Production Clients:

Business Statistics is pleased to report our findings regarding your production company's titles, taglines, and synopses.  Our research focused on the following inquiries.

#1: Submissions from all production companies were grouped together, and approximately 90 GHCHS students were asked to select the best submission in each category.  For each category, a graphic display shows the number of students who rated each tagline, title or synopsis as best among its peers.  Another display shows the number of times each submission was rated in the top four choices of students.

#2: GHCHS students rated each selection from one to ten (ten being highest, one being lowest).  Three graphic displays compare the mean (average) rating for the taglines, titles, and synopses.

#3: Graphic displays showing the distribution of responses for most of the submissions is provided after the aggregate findings.  Descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, and count) are provided for all submissions.  Comparative statistics (mean, median, maximum and minimum) are provided for males and females.

We hope these findings help you predict the likelyhood of success for your film projects.  Remember that in the history of film, many flops have tested well, while screen classics have tested poorly.   Film makers must relie on their gut instincts in making their artistic vision come to life, and statistics should never be used as a substitute for creativity.  With that said, marketing studies have their place in guiding the manner that you market a film.  They provide insights into: (1) who will be most inclined to see your movie, (2) what time a year a movie should be released, (3) how much should be invested in advertising the film, (4) where should those marketing dollars be directed, (5) on how many screens should your film be released, etc. etc. etc.

Please forward any questions or comments.  We would appreciate your thoughts.  Good luck with finalizing your films.  We hope to get an opportunity to view them soon.  And most of all, enjoy your well deserved summer rest.
